Hello . . .
My name is Nicole Jones. For the past 20 years, I have been practicing civil, criminal, and family law on behalf of the people of Douglas County in my private law firm. To the best of my abilities, I have always strived to give clients their right to have their voice heard in court. I have maintained a professional responsibility to my clients to be efficient, honest, and reliable, regardless of whether their past has led them to either side of the law. This year, I want to take the next step in serving Douglas County and their families by running for the Douglas County Superior Court Judge position. Please allow me to earn your vote by browsing through my campaign page!
Nicole Jones began her legal career long before she graduated from law school. She worked full-time at Powell, Goldstein, Fraiser, and Murphy, starting off as a file clerk. During her educational years, she was employed full-time at the U.S. Court of Appeals, the Eleventh Circuit, as a clerk and attended law school part-time. During her time at the Eleventh Circuit, she handled various high-profile cases. After passing the bar exam, she started her law firm, where she has represented the citizens and families of Douglas County since 2004. She has been lead counsel on several high-profile, high-level felony cases.
Her dedication to Douglas County has given her the opportunity to serve as counsel for numerous defendants as a Conflict Court-Appointed Attorney with the Public Defenders Office. She has also been an Assistant Solicitor General with the Douglas County Solicitors Office. Nicole has been a contracted Assistant Public Defender with the Georgia Public Defense Council (GPDC) and has served Fulton County and Clayton County.
My Career
Personal Life
Apart from the natural stress that college places on its students, I had other responsibilities in my personal life as a wife and a mother. When I started my education at John Marshall Law School, I was a mother to three beautiful boys. Before I graduated, that number grew with the addition of my precious daughter. Since then, every day has been a balancing act between my responsibilities to the law, my clients, and my responsibilities to my children. My obligation to both has gifted me a mentality to protect and secure the future of my generation, the next generation, and every generation following them for as long as I can.
Nicole is deeply passionate about serving her community to the best of her ability. To this end, she will take the leadership path by first being her community’s servant. Nicole has been a member of Atlanta West Pentecostal Church since 2005 and, subsequently, one of many lay leaders. In 2002, she became involved with the Boy Scouts of America organization and was given the honor of instilling in a dozen of Douglas County’s boys the positive skills they need to become the responsible men our community desperately cries out for. She continued her efforts to guide the bright minds of our county by volunteering as a Mock Trial Coach from 2014 to 2019. She has ministered to incarcerated men and women through preaching and songs in the jail ministry. She has helped lead the HOPE Ministry for people experiencing homelessness in Atlanta every Saturday for 14 years now. She has participated in the Douglas County Coalition, which ministers to the homeless community in Douglas County.
With over twenty (20) years of trial experience, she has worked across the State of Georgia, fighting for equality for men, women, and families of
Douglas County.
Ms. Jones received her LL.M. from Beasley School of Law Temple University in 2020 and her J.D. from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School in 2004, and her B.A. in Criminal Justice from Georgia State University in 1998.
She has been a home and business owner in Douglas County for the past 21 years. She lives here in Douglas County with her husband and supporter, Justin Jones, their four adult children, one daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren.
